Opportunity
A blank slate screams ‘possibilities’.
Kinder Beauty came to us with a clear mission, passionate customer base, and beautifully-curated product catalog, but when it came to their eCommerce store and its marketing, the potential was limitless.
With a newly-launched SMS offering, email program ripe for expansion, and ready-to-redesign website, we couldn’t wait to start building.
Project Goals
Our mission was clear: increase customer engagement and lifetime value. With a little creativity and a lot of collaboration, we found plenty of “outside the box” ways to accomplish it.
Technology Platforms
“Prominent homepage callouts and stronger CTAs helped increased Kinder's subscription longevity on-site, while retention marketing support complimented efforts by emphasizing 3 and 6-month subscription options.”
Digital and UX Design

Design-Minded
Kinder Beauty knows exactly who they are and why they do what they do. Their clearly-defined brand identity made it intuitive and fun for our digital design team to create a mood board of fonts, colors, and custom email elements like overlays and watermarks.
As we continued to build on the brand look and feel, we kicked off phase two of the project: website development. Our UI/UX designers took the refined visual brand and ran with it, dreaming up a new Shopify store that expanded on the aesthetic while keeping eCommerce best practices at the forefront.
eCommerce

Subscription-Centric
For boxes like Kinder Beauty, subscriptions aren’t an upsell - it’s their entire model. While customers can buy month-to-month boxes or one-off gifts, we aimed to increase customer lifetime value by encouraging longer subscription durations from the get-go.

What's in the box?
Customers asked and Kinder listened; window shoppers were often curious about past boxes, hoping to get a better idea of what’s in store. Likewise, current customers wanted to look back on their own past boxes, in hopes of repurchasing products they’d passed over. We built out their new site with greater visibility for current and prospective subscribers.
eCommerce and Marketing

Beyond the Box
Lastly, we made space for a new Marketplace that allowed shoppers to make one-off purchases of limited-release, ever-changing items.
What had begun as a month-long holiday pop-up shop became so popular that Kinder tasked us with creating a permanent home. We helped rebrand the Marketplace, streamline disjointed PDPs into a cohesive collection, and amplify new drops through a 2-part SMS strategy.
Offering 24 hours of early access for subscription members before opening sales to the general public, we built loyalty amongst current subscribers while helping prospective customers dip a toe before taking the plunge.
